Rock Your Mocs 2026

About Rock Your Mocs

Established in 2011, Rock Your Mocs is a global social media unity event held annually in November alongside National Native American Heritage Month. Founded by Jessica “Jaylyn” Atsye (Laguna Pueblo), the initiative began as a simple, heartfelt idea to express cultural pride and connect Indigenous peoples around the world through their traditional footwear.

During the event, Native American and Indigenous individuals, as well as allies, wear their moccasins and post photos or videos on social media using the hashtag #ROCKYOURMOCS. This collective sharing creates a vibrant online album that celebrates cultural identity, honors ancestral traditions, and highlights tribal individuality.

While November 15th serves as the official main day of celebration, Rock Your Mocs spans an entire week to allow schools, organizations, businesses, and communities worldwide to host independent events, workshops, and gatherings. Whether worn at work, school, or home, moccasins serve as a powerful symbol of resilience, heritage, and unity.
